Welcome!

My name is Angie Hilker

I offer biblical counseling for those who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. I believe your story matters deeply, and that God meets us in the middle of it—not after we’ve fixed everything. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and gently guided toward truth, healing, and lasting change.

My Story

People sometimes ask how long I’ve been a biblical counselor, and I usually laugh and say, “Well… technically since the late ’80s, when I ran my own radio station.”

It started with a boombox, a tiny microphone, and a made-up station called TGAG—THE ROCK. There was no real audience—just me, occasionally my sister, and maybe a stuffed animal or two. But somewhere between the songs and made-up stories, I created a segment called “The Counseling Show,” where imaginary “listeners” would call in with their problems, and I would offer advice with Scripture and fourth-grade confidence.

Looking back, nothing I said back then changed anyone’s life—but something was forming in mine. A love for people. A curiosity about how we think and feel. And a deep desire to walk with others through their stories.

Over time, that calling grew. God met me in my own story—in places of struggle and healing—and began shaping not only what I believed about change, but how I would walk with others in it. That journey eventually led me to seminary, a Doctor of Ministry, and certification in biblical counseling.

The heart of that little “counseling show” never left. I still sit with people, listen to their stories, and open Scripture together—believing that no story is too broken to be restored.

Because ultimately, that’s what this work is about:

not rewriting your story, but allowing God to restore it.

Looking for a  guided workbook?

You were made for a story that becomes whole—one small restoration at a time.

The Table We Come Home To is a journey through trauma, identity, and redemption told through biblical counseling, spiritual formation, and reflective storytelling. Rather than rushing you past your pain, this book invites you to sit at a table God has prepared—one where your wounds are seen, your story is honored, and healing unfolds slowly, honestly, and beautifully.

Across five movements—Awareness, Brokenness, Openness, Known, and Becoming Whole—you are guided to name what hurts, lament what was lost, receive what grace restores, and discover the God who has been pursuing you all along. With Scripture, neuroscience insights, narrative reflections, guided practices, and moments of gentle humor, this book offers a courageous invitation: to sit, to breathe, and to let God meet you where you are.

Your story is not finished. Wholeness is not a destination; it is a table where God meets you and makes you new.
